15 Signs You're A True Yogi

Image
15 Signs You're A True Yogi What do you think of when you hear the term yogi? The term yogi has many connotations. I used to think a true yogi was someone who could perfect all the yoga poses and had aggressively handed over their life to meditation in order to get the ultimate Zen mentality.  However, since more than 20 million women alone practice yoga in the United States, and with men jumping on board too, either we all secretly want to live the Buddha lifestyle — seeking inner peace under a tree — or a  yogi  is anyone who is dedicated to her practice. Yoga can help heal our bodies and minds in a myriad of ways. I hear all the time that yoga can assist with weight loss, which is why I first came to the mat seven years ago. Since starting yoga though, I no longer obsess over the little things. My regular practice has given me more clarity, the desire to eat healthier, and ultimately led to more self-love regardless of the number on the scale. My relationships

What Does It Mean to Be a Yogi?

What Does It Mean to Be a Yogi? Sadhguru looks at what it means to be a yogi, and speaks about hatha yoga and the possibility of experiencing life beyond the physical. Sadhguru looks at what it means to be a yogi, and speaks about hatha yoga and the possibility of experiencing life beyond the physical. Sadhguru:  Hatha yoga is a tremendous possibility if it is practiced and transmitted in its right sense. Right now, hatha yoga is widely perceived as an exercise form. Changing this perception is an onerous task. Hatha yoga is not about losing weight, fixing your back, or getting healthy. Those are consequences, not the purpose. Exercise is a very recent idea. In earlier generations, only wrestlers and warriors exercised. The rest of the people just worked. There was a lot of physical activity, so naturally, people were well-exercised. If your goal is to become a yogi, it may happen in five-and-a-half seconds, or it may not happen in five-and-a-half lif

Scientists create holograms with neutron beams

Image
GAITHERSBURG, Md., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Researchers have for the first time managed to create a hologram using neutron beams instead of lasers. The new neutron beam holograms reveal details about the insides of solid objects, a feat impossible for laser holograms. Unlike a photograph, which simply records the light reflected through a lens and onto a sensor, a hologram is a recording of a light field. Scientists typically create a hologram by shining a laser on an object and recording the interference pattern created as the light waves collide with each other as they bounce of an object. The method allows for a more detailed rendering of an object -- the reason why holograms can showcase an image in 3D. Unfortunately, laser holograms can't see through an object and record details about its interior, but neutron beams can. Scientists already use neutron beams to study the insides of new materials. While adept at penetrating objects, neutron beams aren't all that precise,
